Newcastle CC argue that it will make the junction safer for cyclists. It will not; it will make the junction so very dangerous for cyclists that they are forced off it altogether. Cyclists will be forced onto an inconvenient and circuitous route which they will share with pedestrians. When pedestrians have to share a route with pedestrians, they are put at risk. So, this scheme would act as a disincentive for both cyclists and pedestrians – putting obstacles in their way, and increasing the level of risk they would face. It generates an obesogenic environment – one in which it is most convenient, least risky, and most socially-acceptable to live an inactive lifestyle.

However for a family it is expensive to travel by metro. But it has encourage me to walk short distances.
I notice in London over the passed ten years family and friends have given up their cars it is too difficult to get round despite the congestion zone which is now becoming ineffective. Hence the rise of Uber.
I am treated for breathing difficulties due to years of living in polluted areas. When I go on holiday to the country/seaside I can breath easier and sleep better.
I hope this is of some help to your research please contact me if you need comments.

The councillors seem unwilling to do this. Indeed they are promoting a petition that, most likely, will be treated as but one objection. If there were a meeting at, say, the Gosforth Hotel, it could be advertised on Streetlife where a lot of concern has been expressed. The consultations have been quite inadequate. It could be a springboard for the organising of a lobby at the cabinet meeting next month at which the plan will be put. Such a meeting might have the beneficial side-effect of raising interest in Space.
